Work Full Time And School Part Time

I currently work full time at a nursing home in the rehabilitation department and am going to be taking classes at a community college next year as well. I'm trying to decide how many classes I can handle and thoughts I'd ask if anyone else has gone to school while working and how they managed it along with their PTSD.

Its an individual thing based on your lifes factors... ie. work + home commitments, kids, relationship, etc.

You are honestly better off to take on a lesser amount and increase it IF you have the capacity, than put yourself immediately under greater stress by trying to do more and failing. Start small and push forward as you find your own coping abilities during the process. You might start with on subject, and find you still have heaps of time available, so you may increase it to two... but if you take on 3 or 4, suddenly your overwhelmed and achieve little to nothing, or poorly across all due to stress.

I was thinking about taking 3 classes, but my dad talked me out of that. I was thinking two, but maybe starting with just one would be a better idea.

Hi Brokenchild,

I am going to school part-time and one class is a nice pace to start with. Good idea to start slow and then see how you handle things.

Wishing you the best.
