I just wanted to add to this -- I work for a huge U.S. publication and just noticed this morning that...

I noticed that nothing but the damn election is being covered. Not the hurricane, not major crimes, nothing. It's stupid.

I'm not too well versed on the US judicial system. Please forgive me if this is a silly question.

If that petition for impeachment is signed by enough people to get anyone in the Senate houses attention. While I understand it's too late to have a direct impact on this judge's career.
Could it have an impact on how future judges would be elected, or approved for being elected?
