Anyone subscribe or want to subscribe to youtube red?

I saw a movie trailer "tease" as it said it was the full movie then told you that you needed youtube red.

I don't know if I want to pay another $10 a month for what exactly? Netflix and Amazon Prime is one thing but this looks like a waste of money. It doesn't look like it has much orginal content.

I haven't called Brighthouse (oh, my bad, Spectrum) yet. Putting it off. But will be calling soon as I cannot afford that bill and will need to most likely cancel tv all together and probably my internet and use just my phone so was just wondering if anyone has plunged into youtube yet. Was wondering if it's worth it as it doesn't look like it. Netflix and Amazon Prime (without extras) is all I have right now.

I guess google needed to have a streaming place to call their own?

I haven't had TV in years. Too expensive. And 80 % commercial interruption.
Netflix and Prime work for me. And I hardly ever use those.
Occasionally for a sports event I make it a social event and find a sports bar or a friend's house.
I just don't need TV when I have you guys for entertainment.....:p

I just don't need TV

My tv is always on. Noise. I need the constant noise.

My dad left me his blueray so i can use it in the bedroom but need a new tv in there. I have been wanting one anyway but this would be a push for it.

Sigh! So much I DVR and so many shows not on Netflix or Amazon that I would so miss!!

I have YouTube Red as it's included with Google Play (music subscription service). It gives me ad free YouTube as well as background play on my phone (without YTR, all YouTube videos stop playing when you switch apps or turn the screen off).

Full movies usually require a rental from the Google Play store and then can be viewed on YouTube or with a Google Play Movies app. If you want, PM me the link to the movie and I'll let you know if it plays with my YTR subscription.

Thanks @Symphony! Yeah, the continous playing is cool but if I want music to play with any or no screen I can use Amazon Music for that. Which comes with Amazon Prime.

That's a great thing I like about Amazon Prime is you get many things for the same price. And free next day shipping which is nice too.

I guess its not worth it for just the music part of it. It said there was orginal content (so i take that as like a Netflix or Amazon orginal) but that's not really orginal content if you have to rent or buy it in google play.

That's sort of crappy then. 10 bucks a month for just ad free continous playing music?

It's more than that. I can download full albums from Google's entire catalog to listen without using data and listen to albums straight-through without being forced into a "radio" feature with other artists or albums. The catalog is broader than Prime's free catalog. And, as a bonus, ad free music and ad free YouTube (which is especially helpful in avoiding triggers and avoids embarrassment during lecture presentations where you want to show a clip of something to illustrate a concept).

Send me the link, though, and I'll tell you if it plays.
