So Much To Work On

Sometimes it feels like there is just too much to work on. It's overwhelming. I need to fix my anxiety, depression, temper, house, weight, phobia, inability to connect with others, financial situation, blah blah blah blah. I don't even want to type it all! Why do I have to have this shit to work on? Why can't I have just a normal life with friends and more simple concerns? Who the heck has the time & energy to work on all this stuff?

Just venting, I guess.

Just try to work on one thing at a time. I've found if one thing can change, the others tend to follow. As changes start to happen and you start to feel a little better, other aspects of your life tend to follow along. It won't happen over night, but change is possible. :) Hang in there and don't get discouraged.;):hug: Raven

P.S. I don't believe there's a such thing as "Normal". If you asked a hundred people what normal was, you'd get a hundred different answers. So just live your life the best you can to make you comfortable and happy. :inlove:

Ditto to the OP

If I work on one thing at a time, I'll be "normal" by the time I'm 367.

OP I understand what you mean by normal. Hold a job like normal people. Have relationships like normal people. Go to the grocery store during normal business hours like normal people------not at 2am! Be able to go places and do things like normal people. Not live in a state of poverty because you can't support yourself like a normal person. Any and all of the above.

Just work on one thing at a time....I do remember thinking the same thing..just seemed too much, so I totally understand your frustration.

I look around at a lot of people who appear to be ' normal '.....they appear to have more issues than I have tbh. The difference being that I have ( as well as most on here ) had to work on myself to basically function, they don't....so they are not so self aware.

I agree with the others here, you can only do one thing at a time. If the whole house needs to be cleaned, then just do one room. If it is doing paperwork and the bills, keep only the paperwork that is necessary and trash the rest. Small things in bits and bytes. That way you always feel as if you are accomplishing something. And as far as normal is concerned, I know exactly how you feel. I feel exactly the same way. Sometimes it pisses me off watching the so-called normal live their lives. But then I reign myself in and realize that the so-called normal are most likely more whacked than we are. Atleast we are working on and acknowledging our trials and tribulations and many of the "normal" are just sweeping theirs under the rug. one minute, one hour, one day at a time and you will be just fine.
