New Here
Somewhere between kindergarten and 3rd grade I witnessed my moms boyfriend and my real dad in a serious fight you know fights theirs blood and violence and so my my went to call the cops and my real dad saw that and put a big knife to my moms neck and then my real dad put me in my stroller and kidnapped me as we were leaving the apartment complex which we lived on the second floor and it was and outdoor complex he took me all the way down to the other side of the building and taking me downstairs on the way to the end of the building he was dripping blood on me and its about dark and were going around town and its night time now the police find my real dad and I and when they found me I threw up because of what was going on. In 3rd grade I was sexually abused by my male baby sitter and sometime after that I witnessed someone getting beat by a metal bar or pipe. I was recently diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) this summer all that bad stuff happened when I lived in Longmont, Colorado then I moved to Byron, Wyoming town of about 400 people knowing that area now most people don't understand what goes on in the outside world which is outside of a small town so the ones who haven't had that kind of background doesn't understand the people who have had that happen to them. I currently have an emotional support dog and working on having her as a service dog to help with my PTSD I guess somewhere along the line in my life I always felt something missing or didn't quite fit in with the rest of the kids. The big things that help me was being part of athletic activities in middle school and high school I was the manager in middle school of the football team in 7th and 8th grade, played basketball in 7th and 8th grade, manager of wrestling in 7th and 8th grade. In high school I was the manager of the football team and boys basketball team in 9th- 12th grade and it has been such a good influence on me because I got to have good friendships and I got to know the people which Is the best part for someone with PTSD.

Welcome, Robert. What a horrific trauma for a young child to have to deal with! Thank goodness you had sports to help you through the difficult years. Do you go to therapy?

I'm glad you found us. There's a ton of information and knowledge here for you to access, and plenty of understanding and support, whenever you need it.

Welcome to the Forum!
I think you will find good support here. I've been a member for 8 years now. The people here are super special and are more than willing to offer comfort and/or advice. I'm glad you found us.

I usually have a lot more to say but haven't had many words lately. Hopefully, that will change soon. I CAN assure you that being persistent as you pursue your healing WILL pay off! It takes time and it may rear it's head when you least expect it but it's WORTH the work!

Blessings to you...
AKJ

Thank you that's what I am looking for it's hard for me to interact with other people because I feel they wouldn't understand what I have been through and also it's hard for me to trust them because I feel they would hurt me.

Welcome! I'm glad you identified with someone so fast! That's good! I've had PTSD and Bipolar all my life ( new psychiatrist threw in bipolar.. I don't know) but was diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago. I can identify with KristiStruggles story but mine had more family that abused.
.

I was diagnosed with PTSD a couple of years ago after I graduated high school that's when I was officially diagnosed with it but I don't know how long I have had it or when it started than now I was diagnosed with depression from a psychiatrist. I don't know what's it like to have bipolar but I can do the best I can to put myself in your shoes to understand what your feeling.

Bipolar is a trip. It's kind of like paranoia screaming. I take quite a bit of medication that suits me. ( doesn't make me a zombie) and I feel as normal as I can. Actually... Since I lived so long without being diagnosed.. You'd never know I had it.. Which is creepy. Ha!! Glad you are here though. Just keep reading and you'll find out a lot. Drink water if you are taking meds ( I have to tell myself) anything else will make the brain fog worse.
