To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. Isaiah 61:3

@purpleswirled - I try to put positive verses out here for folks as I find that is what my relationship with God is about - support, strength, hope, forgiveness, love, kindness, protection... If you are inclined and can afford it, there is a devotional that I just love. It is entitled: Jesus Calling. I believe the author has another one out as well - @SheilaKathy wrote about it in a post on this thread. Blessings. VB

I think I have shared this before but it seemed like a good time to post this...

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those that mourn for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:3-10

Matthew 6:25-34 New Living Translation (NLT)
25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Need prayer support for myself, Mr. W and his family. He's inoperable, on hospice and it's quite sudden/unexpected. I'll be assisting the family and hospice til he passes.

Jesus Calling.

I'm reading this one this year! It's shorter than the others but written during her 3-year lupus so she's a fellow #spoonie Very relevant to us
