Heat for me sometimes triggers me to think about Iraq. Often it's at night when the house is warm. The old lady is cold and cranks up the heat. I am always checking to keep it off. If I wake up hot, I freak out, and think I'm back in that shit hole. Takes a minute or two to realize where I am.
I remember the first time I smelt Baghdad. One of the guys in my truck asked if someone farted. :ROFLMAO:
I'm fine for the most part in the day time (Did all night missions in Iraq, with a handful of day and early morning missions.) When I first arrived at home it was summer and they were doing road construction kicking up large amounts of dust. That really put me back in the "I'm still at war" mindset. It was very difficult at times to drive. Hell, I still avoid driving at night because I don't want the IED monster to eat me. I even put the brightest on road and off road lights on my vehicle that I could.
