PerfectEmpire -

I heard the crowd and traffic were a nightmare (if I'm correct on where I think you attended) - so I'm glad you got there early. I heard some people where still in traffic on the highway and missed the entire concert. Beyond crazy.

I'm glad you had a good time - from the pics I saw the stage set-up is incredible.

Hate I couldn't make it - sounds like it was a great concert!

There were 55,000 ticket holders there for the Raleigh 10/03/09 show. I knew I needed to show up early! Afterwards it took us 2 hours to make it back out to the main road, and the nearby interstate was a parking lot!

Some other fans on the U2 forum (Zootopia) are pretty upset. Apparently the stadium ran out of parking spaces...?! We parked before the parking lots were even open. We parked in a business complex down the street 5.5 hours before show time.

How were they compared to the other tours you saw?

The set design was much better than the ones for Elevation (2001 tour) and Vertigo (2005 tour). There were bridges that moved over our heads and connected the main stage (what we were standing against) to the runway that wraps around it. The band members move around a lot (especially Bono and Edge) using these bridges. It really brings the band closer to the people! And the screen was a cylinder of contracting and expanding individual cells of light. No matter where you were in the stadium you were at a great angle to see the screen. It truly was a 360° experience! Things were moving and lighting up all around us! It was the best show I have ever been to. They should have waited to come out with U2 3D so that they could use this set (rather than the Vertigo set) for this film.

I'm glad you went early - the roads in Raleigh are not set-up for 55,000 people at one time - as I'm sure you know by now (LOL). I did hear that they ran out of parking also - poor planning - I don't think anyone realized how far away people would come from.

I am so glad you had a good time - the stage set-up sounds absolutely amazing!!

Good job on handling the crowd - I'm so glad you had fun!!!!!!!
