I'm Terrier,

I served in Iraq in 2005. I was in the Navy but served with the Army during that time. It certainly was a new experience for me! I was in convoys nearly everyday so was exposed to IEDs and Suicide bombers at checkpoints. I didn't realize until I got back to the US that I had changed. It took 4 years to be diagnosed with PTSD and 3 1/2 more years before they diagnosed me with TBI. It has been a real challenge for me, so many doctors have told me there is nothing wrong with me, yet I knew I wasn't the same person and something was wrong. I've nearly given up a few times, but have barely hung on. I'm about to retire from the Navy and just want some semblance of my former life back. I'm sure many of you understand how I feel and what I'm going through. Am hoping to connect with others who understand the world of the combat wounded warrior.
