@WhiteHatGirl...hope it's okay to ask...What is an autoimmune "panel" please? I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (autoimmune disease). Thank you.

@WhiteHatGirl While it's possible to have a autoimmune disease that targets the inner ear. I don't think that's what causes me to get this.

Autoimmune diseases are generally progressive, which does not fit my experience. It's actually gotten a bit better since I started this thread.
Though I still get the severe high/low tone volume disruption from time to time, overall the tinnitus has decreased.

I also do not suffer from any other form of autoimmune disease, nor is there a family history of which I am aware.

Good thinking though, it is certainly possible someone else could be though.
Thanks for making mention of it.

@JadesJewel I believe they are referring to the screening process used to identify autoimmune disease.
Usually a blood test, which looks for elevated levels of white blood cells, antibodies and or enzymes from the liver or kidneys.

Sorry if you already know all that. Not trying to sound patronising or anything.

@Neverthesame is that the same panel that looks four lupus, or is the test for lupus separate? I ask because they tested me for lupus and I tested negative (yay) but doctors keep asking me if I have fibro and I may have psoriatic arthritis as I have psoriasis.... so I'm guessing I wasn't tested for the "panel for auto immune". just trying to figure out what may be going on. ;) Ravengirl

I'm afraid I don't know.
From what I understand it's a broad spectrum test, but I'm not sure if it is specifically used for diagnosing lupus.

I do know however, that psoriasis is an autoimmune disease. So maybe they did?
You'd have to ask your doctor about that one, they would know what tests they ordered for you.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
