...You find yourself fronting the shelves when you go to the grocery store.

...The volume on your stereo has to be on an even number.

Or you empty, clean, unpack/repack and organize the same crap, in the same closet resulting in everything being placed back in the closet in the exact same way it came out.

Question does it mean I have O.C.D. if I rearrange my pantry every Friday? Usually I have to have the soups together the vegetables together the boxed foods together the noodles cannot be on the same shelf as the boxed things. even if they are in a box. Also when I make grilled cheese sandwiches I have to have 2 pieces of cheese so that they make a six pointed star on the bread? When I make corn and mashed potatoes the corn cannot touch the mashed potatoes on the plate. When eating nothing can be mixed together and you have to eat each thing separately like meat first then one side dish then another. Only taking a drink between dishes and finishing the drink after the meal.

Other than the food touching (I love mixing food on my plate!) I see nothing wrong with what you do with the pantry arranging. When I go grocery shopping I have to bag the groceries (my husband knows that the way he would do it would just be wrong for my crazy mind and he stands back and lets me do it) and I have to put them away for the same reason. If the canned fruit are on the same shelf as the veggies...well, I just can't have that. Not OCD...just incredibly strong organization skills!! LMAO!

The canned foods in my cabinet have to be in an even row, by type, etc. Drives me nuts to see it all mixed up or uneven. Besides, I am able to see at a glance what I have or don't have.

I also have to have everything in the frigerator in matching rows. I have the liquid shelf, the lunch shelf, the leftover shelf, etc with everything in straight rows. OCD at it's finest

Is It OCD Or OCPD

Being obsessive as I am, I did a little bit of research. Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge could help; however, the definitions I have worked out are:

Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) - is a mental disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce anxiety, by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing anxiety, or by combinations of such thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions). The symptoms of this anxiety disorder range from repetitive hand-washing and extensive hoarding to preoccupation with sexual, religious, or aggressive impulses.

Please note - The phrase "obsessive–compulsive" has become part of the English lexicon, and is often used in an informal or caricatured manner to describe someone who is meticulous, perfectionistic, absorbed in a cause, or otherwise fixated on something or someone.

Obsessive–compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) - is a personality disorder which involves an obsession with perfection, rules, and organization. People with OCPD may feel anxious when they perceive that things are not right. This can lead to routines and rules for ways of doing things, whether for themselves or their families.

Just a thought
