I’d consider asking they change that policy as an ADA accommodation to loan the PC now due to your being high risk.

I can ask but it's coming from corporate. No one in that office or even the guy over the entire central florida area can change the policy or ask it to be changed. But can ask.

ETA: They can probably ask if it can be changed but its coming down from corporate so not a whole lot anyone in that office can do but ask.

No one? Remind them of penalties.

As in I'm soo sure their own supervisors won't be happy they are ignoring regulations & laws in a state of national emergency...

Just to push some nonsense corporate agenda...
That may not even be legal, discriminating against a disabled person - who complies with laws & rules, good job you  - like that.

Fire is under their asses. Not yours.

What does this mean? I'm dense right now.

ETA: The incidental contact I mean

So, the dog's person had covid. The first test they did showed the dog had super low level of covid. Future tests showed he did not and the dog did not get sick. So, the dog probably did something like like his owner just before he was tested. So the covid was there but was no actual infection. Whatever contact he'd had from his owner must have happened right before he was tested and just hadn't had time to wash out of his system.

Oh, thet were saying that we are exempt of "shelter in place" so Florida must of put into "shelter in place" laws.

Thank you for explaining. That makes sense!

Your job is to keep safe & others safe.

Their customer service aka your work *isn't* more important than health & lives.

Because nothing is.
Them ignoring the obvious is them being jerks. Who happily endanger others. (I wonder how will they like when that gets to court? And that they are literally trying to force a vulnerable employee to cooperate?)

You don't have to follow jerks making the rules. :)
Health = First.
Their petty can't do problems = Waaaay down that priority list.

Make sense? ;)
I'm tired so not explaining as well I'd like to.

But can ask.

^ No harm in asking. It's necessary to ask if you want to change your circumstances. Be professional about how you do it.

It's possible amongst the myriad of issues facing corporate organisations right now that they have forgotten about this possibility and would be very happy for employees in your position to work from home & take assets home to do it. It's extremely common for many organisations to provide all manner of equipment and assets to their employees even when covid19 wasn't here.

They may say yes - straight up. They may ask questions - which I'm sure you are capable of answering. They may say no - which means you then must concentrate on your work environment - making sure it's clean & the social distancing rules are adhered to.

The guy who insists on sitting next to you may be oblivious to how you're feeling & the importance of social distancing. I'm sure he's not doing it to try to make you feel uncomfortable.

Be polite and ask him if he'd mind sitting one more space away from you. Having asthma does not preclude a person from having covid19 or vice versa. Ask him for the space. Maybe even tell him you're concerned about you infecting him because that's a legitimate concern too.

We’re going to have a “stay at home, work from home” order starting Wednesday till at least the end of April, which essentially is a shelter in place order.

Not sure I’m a big fan of this. But unfortunately it seems it’s necessary because people are just incapable of following some common sense recommendations.

Our state of emergency has started March 4. I’ve been in practical self-isolation for at least 1.5 weeks, now.

I kind of wish we’d had more drastic measures sooner and be done with it sooner. This new order has me worried for all kinds of different (personal, selfish) reasons.

But hey, now those around me being the loudest on social media finally got their will. Hopefully they’re happy now and will finally shut the f*ck up. It had gotten unbearable. Those same people had been incredibly busy continuously sharing rumors and actual fake news as well as stirring up emotions in their own panic.

My husband has some sick leave left for the coming week and can take two weeks of vacation after that, so he’s good through mid-April. What will happen after that? I’m not sure. He can’t work from home and last week’s mail was to take unpaid leave if you’re out of sick/vacation days. Which we cannot afford.
