I did ask about the seating at work. Just asking as a curious person. Their plan is to assign seats. Not just to get people to sit every other desk but she said that you and only you sit there for sanitizaton to be easier and healthier. I personally think they are waiting on those that are taking advantage of the work at home thing. Waiting for the call center to have less people in it.

They added a "sanitiztion station" at work at one of the main doors. I guess its a high pressure blower. It looks like a spray bottle with a hose coming out of the side towards the bottom. Didnt take advantage of it but sounds like work is taking all measures.

We are swamped with calls. Everyone and their brother is calling.

I’d be grateful as f*ck if I could find out if the month long thing half the asthmatics in the city got LAST month was Covid simply treated early and aggressively
We had a really nasty cold going around in January here in the NW and it ended with a 5 week cough. Now people are wondering if it was related to covid.
^That's what a lot of the 20 something people are saying here. The same people who find it impossible to do the social distancing or self-isolating huh?? But now they're confused because they didn't know it applied to them too?? Or, they're still, 'in denial'. Pathetic little generation happening there.
Oh cool! You are fighting for social justice by not needing the cops escort you anywhere for breaking the law :D

Or Look how aaawesome leader you are for telling all the boys in your gaming group how to not be sick :sneaky:

Dude, you are way better than (fave character monarch from a game everybody is into at the time).
(some of them, anyway) can be quoted saying things like “I don’t care if I get it, I’m not high risk”. H
so -- the 20 somethings. Not that I want to make excuses for them or anything, but here in the states they were repeatedly told that covid didn't hit people under the age of 60 and trump kept downplaying the severity of the problem. So many of them truly believed that if they stayed away from old people they were good to go. It wasn't until a week or so ago that the docs started seeing more and more young people with it and by then they were all off on spring break. Should they have been more cautious? Yep. But based in the info they were getting I can understand why they didn't take it seriously.

In other news--- oregon and washington have joined the stay at home world too -- till at least April 6th.

Oh! here's something interesting.

I'm friends with a critcial care nurse and we were talking about the masks. She said she appreciates what people are doing by making them at home but they won't stop corona. Better than nothing? Not by much. That was sad to hear. She also said the problem with the little blue masks everyone is wearing is that they get damp really fast and then it can actually draw the microbs into your system. She is trying to get friends and family to adhere to the 6 foot rule because that is the best way to stay safe.

Yeah, I've been worried for a while that wearing masks gives people a false sense of security. I recall from very early on seeing advices that for most everyone masks don't actually help, especially not what they called "surgeon's masks" (the "normal" blue ones). And if anything, it doesn't protect healthy people from getting infected, it may to some degree help infected try to protect others. To limited degrees.

But just as with hand sanitizer (which may or may not do anything), people just went crazy with this.

Masks in public are extremely rare in my area (folks are way too relaxed here about a lot of things right now - like, yeah, closing all the restaurants means you too, Sushi Train:shifty: ). So, when you see them, it's a bit like, "Eek, contagion! Stay back!"

Which is what I'm hoping they'll achieve for my mum.

I ducked into Spotlight to buy the cotton and elastic for my sister to start mass-production. A great big piece of cotton with a Dumbo print. Which is my contribution to keeping a smile on faces in a time of stress and sadness:laugh:

Three weeks lockdown
We are on a stay-at-home order for 3 weeks
oregon and washington have joined the stay at home world too -- till at least April 6th.

Guess we're the ones going the full length? We'll be in actual lockdown all the way through the end of April. With everyone locally complaining that measures have been slow (huh? Again, we had our emergency declaration March 4th, before the national one! - people just didn't abide by the rules) and not drastic enough, it sure seems like unwarranted "complaints".

As of today, we have 77 confirmed cases out of 3,200 tested - and only those with enough fitting symptoms are actually tested. 3 people have been hospitalized.
