You obviously don't need to explain anything, but in my work when I get really anxious about making a mistake or doing something wrong, it never is as bad as I make out? I don't know if you are the same as me in this aspect, but I have such fear of making mistakes, having my job and security taken away which results in me loosing my home and everything I built up to give me safety and security. Etc etc. Total catastrophic events from something that ends up not being a mistake, or if it is a mistake: it's actually ok and solvable somehow.
I constantly say to those I supervise (although I find it hard to allow me the same compassion) " it's impossible to be working at 100%, getting it right 100% of the time, because we are human and will get it wrong at times, for a variety of reasons. It's ok". Because that is true. We all will make mistakes. A company and a boss needs to understand that and have supportive practices/policies in place to manage that and accept that.
So, I hope your mistake at work has sorted itself out and you have given yourself permission to make mistakes because it's human, and compassionate.
