one of the best resources to look through is the National Alliance on Mental Illness. You can access them by going to www.nami.org and then searching for your state and city. They maintain a great network of local affiliates, and that's where you'll find information on groups and other local resources.Do you know where I can find a local in person trauma group because I was looking for that as well. Hard to find a support group, but very important as I feel alone.
I’m in Oz so can’t offer specifics, however here we have a number of women’s health centres, state victims services portals, and abuse survivor access lines; all of which have staff who know therapists nearby with experience or speciality in trauma so they might be a good place to ask as I’m assuming something similar exists in the US, I know it does in NZ (I’ve used equivalent services there) and a friend in the UK has found therapy in a similar way there.Anyone know where I can find a trauma therapist, preferably emdr, in Ohio city? I prefer in person, but would try online. Thanks in advance.
