Exposure therapy and my spouse

Hello! I am a 41 yo in treatment for complex PTSD. The therapy I am in is exposure therapy. I have focused on one trauma event for 18 weeks and recently started a new exposure. My question is, my spouse says/feels that I twist everything he says. I am thinking that if I am it’s due to more confidence in protecting my feelings. E says I twist everything he says to be hurtful to me. I am not too sure if this is the case or if I am more conscious of what he is saying and it feels like a dagar to me. I have also been ill recently and needing more assistance with daily life. What are your thoughts? is this a problem with exposure therapy?

What are your thoughts? is this a problem with exposure therapy?
Less a problem with exposure therapy, in and of itself, and more a problem of increased stress = increased symptoms. Helloooooo Stress Cup!

ANY kind of trauma therapy is huge stress.
Illness is stress.
Dependence, needing assistance (for most people) is stress.
Relationships are stress.

So what he’s saying makes a whole lotta sense if part of your PTSD symptoms include ; trust issues, cognitive distortions, low self esteem, & expectations of abuse. X1000 or X1,000,000 if you’re triggered at the time.

^^^ That doesn’t mean that he isn’t an abusive asshole, saying terrible things to you, I don’t know the man. He might be. But? He could also be a saint, singing your praises from on high, and you hearing the twisted nastiness of the past, instead of a loving present.

Is there an impartial 3rd party you 2 could turn to, to help sort out what’s going on?
