As a pretty left wing person myself who grew up in a pretty right wing area- no this is not what it means. I’m not going to fight you. But please take a breath and a moment to reevaluate how you perceive people and why they may have the policies or beliefs they do.

I cannot see any other reason than this as I have witnessed over and over the FAILURES of these ideologies and what they lead to.
There is simply no deep breath to be had. I have been silently breathing for FAR too long. I cannot be quiet about the issues, as they impact the lives of people I care about deeply. Blue no matter who for life.
I just don't understand giving any consideration to the opinions of those who cannot even view the poor as human beings. Maybe some libertarians and conservatives give a dang, but they support a system that lies and lies, to them and to others.
Trump wants to dismantle social security. To me, the only intention is to kill the disabled. Agenda 2025 is going to be put in effect if that Nazi gets elected.

The parties are two divorced parents whose primary concern is to one up each other or stick it to each other. They want to be the kids (us) favorite while it benefits them.

Both parties. Conservatives are not anymore egregious than democrats. They are both terrible and don’t have people as their priority.

But coming at any side in the way you have here will just continue the divide and perpetuate peoples assumptions about the other party.

Wow. Sounds like your dad’s political views have really f d you up. Just so you know, there are sane people in all of the political parties no matter how far left or right they lean. But people like your dad are who divide the nation. He’s clearly angry and if he were mine, I wouldn’t see him especially in an election year. I’d stay as far away as possible.

This country and its politics are based on the peaceful display of thoughts. Yes they’ve always been passionate but in the end they sometimes peacefully agreed to disagree, something I wish we’d do more of. Minorities are welcome in many communities and many national leaders work hard to make that so and yet some places are still backwards in their beliefs.

As far as safety goes, everyone has a reason to not feel safe, some acknowledge it and work to feel safe while others no matter how much others work for them will never feel safe. We’re all humans and lots of us care about all those around us not just those who are just like them. Don’t let your dad make you this angry.

Its just so common here for rightwing extremism to run rampant. My dad has barely any reading comprehension. He wants me dead for being genderqueer (well it was heavily implied, called me part of the evil alphabet mafia and said we were all criminals that m*lested kids). It is horrible. Literally so brainwashed he can't believe a word I say. I've associated this with the right for a long time because nearly every one I have met has been the same way. I think I'll be waiting til my dying breath to meet one of the sane ones. Maybe if I leave hick NH. My partner thought the free state movement was supposed to be cool. Now he feels like he was brainwashed by right wing nutjobs.
He said all of communism was a "murderous ideology" yet libertarians don't address the failures of a free unregulated market. How many more people have to die before someone gets it? My ex was a right wing nut job. If I can get my old phone working, I could put up a picture of how badly he beat me, obviously with a trigger warning because no one wants to see that without warning.
I have only met a handful of abusive leftists.... but 99% of rightwingers and libertarians, well forget it because I hate thinking about people who wanted me hurt.
