Do You See Beauty?

I see the beauty in things all the time, However beauty is in the eye, ears, touch, scent, and taste of the beholder. When the seeing become blind then they will be able to see beauty. Get that vision back and your ability to see beauty in all things becomes vivid. Now the beauty of the story would be great if he gave not only the money he collected but also a few 100K to a charity. I can not understand how someone can make 1+M a year and live high and large without a thought in the world for those less fortunate.

Can you see the beauty in a bald woman? The beauty is she knows who she is.
The beauty in a common weed? Its surviving when every lawn owner is trying to kill it.
The beauty in street graffiti? Someone has a artistic mind but just not focusing it into something good.
The beauty in nature; say a rock formation? It took mother nature eons to create the beauty that makes you pause, however your lifetime passes by faster everyday, that beauty will be there to be looked upon by your great-great-great grand children and will look the same as the day you laid your eyes upon it.
The beauty of a snap dragon flower on a salad? brightens your taste buds knowing you picked it from the garden.
The beauty in the sound of crickets chirping at night?
The beauty in the feeling of a rose petal? Smooth as silk
The beauty in a baby crying?
Beauty surrounds us even when our day is rushed? The herd of people lining the sidewalks traveling in the same direction like animals heading for slaughter , yet their mass moves as one instead of a few hundred all thinking of something different.

I see beauty... it's usually in nature though. Yesterday I had to go out of town and I saw a red fox who'd apparently crossed the highway shortily in front of me take a running leap into deep green folage... all four paws off the ground and very graceful. I try to find something like that every day. There is also has been a blue heron nest I've been watching in a small swampy area. If nothing else happens, I can sit at my front window and watch my bird feeder.

I totally understand that, Anni. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed.... I've been up all night and just watching the light change colors during the dawn (not even the dawn itself, just the light on my shutters) has been distracting me.

Yes! And there's a certain color, in the summer, right before the sun goes down on a really clear night-there's a BLUE. It's so astonishingly beautiful you just don't know what to do with what you're seeing. You just kind of look at it knowing you're looking at something with no hope of capturing a description-can never figure out why the world hasn't just stopped all over the place while everyone else tries to process it also. Yes, tough, tough to describe those types of images. Beyond me, anyway.

On that subject, there was an absolutely amazing sunset here tonight... perfect gold clouds, sky fading to pink and purple.. *happy sigh*. I actually like winter sunsets more than summer sunsets... where I live, anyway :)

I would have noticed that because I love violin. But beauty generally makes me feel angry. I like nature, but it just seems like this is so beautiful and people are so f ing mean. We are a bad race.

Yes, exactly!!!! And it's not JUST that shade of blue, but transitioning into and then out of it that is also beautiful. I'll never understand how people don't notice.

I have trouble with seeing beauty anymore, my therapist wants me to go on more walks and go places. She thinks that it will help me pay attention to sensations, colors and the like. The idea is that thinking is not the key but rather feeling, kind of confuses me and its hard because all I do is think and not acknowledge in a sensory like way.

Holy heck, Reclusive! SO funny!!!! Last year, my husband suddenly came down with pneumonia. It was awful- he's this big, strong woodsy guy- 6'2" of tough. Scared the crap outa me. As I was leaving the hospital, the sky DID that-I could seriously, seriously NOT figure out why all the traffic had not stopped, why everyone was not pointing at the sky, where all the news crews were. It was the coolest, best, most beautiful shade of blue I'd ever witnessed, and kept it up, changing like you say for the whole sunset. I'm extremely lucky I did not wreck the car-watched to til that last cobalt color went to black, too and took it as some sign. Hee- yes, that's getting into an entire new subject but I will never forget THAT BLUE, on that day.
