Finally can upload some pet pics! Some of my pets are a bit more than pets. Actually most of them are. These two are "Emotional Support Animals" both trained in various light duties to help me at home feel better, or remember stuff, or fetch things.
On the right is Jetta. She has the terribly challenging job of offering herself for massages first thing in the morning before the worst panic/flashbacks. Or if I crawl into bed, she arrives for some grounding duty. Jetta is also a constant clown - between Jetta and Sam I don't feel the need for any mass media type entertainment, and there's no trigger danger with their antics!
Gigi, the weird looking fuzzy dog on the left in the first picture, has been a support dog since she was a puppy, about eight years. At the time I was recovering from a bad car wreck. She's a hairless lap dog and instinctively seeks the warmest places to lay. Voila! Instant living heating pad!
The best was when I had migraines, oh my. I mean, I didn't like having the migraines, but Gigi would help so much to ease the tension in my neck and shoulders from the constant pain barrage.
Gigi also has a particular, very important job. She responds to my twice daily meds alarm, along with Sam my regular service dog, and actually carries a supply of my meds. This is helpful when I'm "stuck" and tend to ignore everything, including inanimate alarms. When I'm on a precise schedule, my sleep patterns are far easier to regulate. So I'm really grateful she's able to do this for me. And seriously? World's cutest meds alarm, yes?
