If you tell him not to come, will he listen? If not, can you change the lock on your door? I am not sure how extreme the abuse is, but if you are feeling threatened but please make steps to protect yourself and your children.

A lawyer told me that I shouldn't change the locks on the door because it is marital property. I have found a rental house that the landlord has agreed to waive the deposit and the first months rent if I do some work to the house... like painting and cleaning up after the previous tenants. I am looking for a job and I am afraid to move into the house w/o having an income. I just want to go. He holds the house over my head and says that if I apply for assistance with the DHHR then he will move his stuff back in here. He doesn't want his kids on welfare. But, he is rerouting his direct deposits into an account that he has set up. He said he will go to the grocery store and bring groceries to the house for me and the kids. I guess thats his way of controlling yet another aspect of my life. It's crazy.
