Hello everyone. This is my first post on the forums. If my spelling gets screwy, please overlook it as I'm currently crying uncontrolably for no aparent reason. Anywho, I have been have some harder difficulties lately with controling my anger around smaller triggers. This has never ben a problem that I couldn't cope with until now. Things such as drumming fingers, excessive noise and even asinine conversations going on nearby send me into a dark place and sets the stage for a very bad day. I can't remove myself from many of these situations, as they are at the workplace and school, and my typical coping skills (eg. Breathing deep, count to 10, etc...) aren't aiding me. Please forgive me if I sound like a complete snob. I'm not usually torn up like this. Any suggestions, advice or similar experiences are greatly appreciated.

Hi TylerBrock, welcome. I really am in no position to offer advice, but I think you will find some very helpful people here who can relate to what you are going through. I know I have!

Hi Tyler,

Welcome to the PTSD Forum!

Take your time and look around as there are a lot of helpful threads for dealing with stress that can make PTSD symptoms worse. You don't sound like a snob, just someone who is looking for help in controlling the symptoms.

This forum is a great place for information, but the most amazing part about the forum is the acceptance and support found among the members.

Take care.

Debbie

Hi. Tyler. Little things like that can really get to me, too, when I am overloaded with anxiety. Have you checked out Anthony's "overflowing cup" analogy? It is a good one. Have you been diagnosed? Therapy and perhaps an ssri can help a lot.
