Well, I'm ready to hibernate for a few days if necessary, if the predicted storms arrive. I've just been shopping, so I have a few days of supplies, so I don't have to go out, and get wet and blown away!

I hope that includes candles and batteries for torches? It sounds as if power cuts are to be expected.
Good luck! I don't think we have it so bad here - nor is it predicted to become so.

OMG - I didn't think of that. I can't live without electricity!! No telly to watch! No mains to power my lap top - how will I survive?! Right, I'm putting everything on charge right now! How long will my food stay fresh (and more importantly how long will my wine stay cold) once my fridge has no electricity? Okay, so that's my knee-jerk, flippant reply (although legitimate concerns, you understand) . . . .

But seriously, I hadn't thought of that! It's chucking it down now - I'm not going out again! But, I have candles, well, tea lights, but they count, right? I have lighters, to light them. I have rechargeable batteries (ok - not so helpful, unless I get them all charged quickly), and possibly a couple of torches, but now I need to find them before it gets dark.

I really wish you hadn't said that Lucy. I'm more worried now. I don't like the wind, and I don't like the dark. Is it wrong to think that 'should have bought candles' is in second place to 'should have bought more wine'?!

Here in the States this morning we are hearing news about the storms in the UK. I hope all are safe

It has not hit us as it was south of the country, but there is a lot of disruption to the transport network there.

I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you! Hope it has gone OK and you maybe did not get the power cuts. I see a lot did. I hear the worst has passed now.

If you haven't already done so, time to open that bottle of wine - who am I kidding, I expect it's all gone!!!

All is fine here. I don't think it hit us as bad as expected. It looks like the worst hit was the south coast.

Erm, yeah . . . I drank the wine anyway ! :p

It is -12 celcius (10 farenheit) and has been snowing for the past couple of days.

It is raining and consequently knocking the leaves off of the trees. I hate seeing them fall. Bare trees make me feel sad.
