What Made You Angry Today?

The apartment management didn't salt or shovel the steps. My husband, 30 years older than me, slipped and smashed his knee on them. First I did first aid, etc. Once I saw he was going to be okay, I felt angry at the building management. But I checked myself before saying my piece. Telling the truth can be an effective single bullet. Escalating rage doesn't help. Not that Ive been able to keep from blowing up a few times in my life!! Today though, I felt angry but effectively conveyed my objections without losing it, which felt good and was easier on my body.

@Ms Spock Yes I do. The rational adult mind steers the conversation, feelings that are unhelpful are told to take a back seat and be quiet until I get to a place in my day or evening where I can hash them out. Even then my feelings don't rule the roost, they sit at the round table and have a say... but the head of the table is my adult mind.

Emotional regulation is improving slowly and incrementally. I got some material on this if you'd like and can send it to you.

My brother taking my keys out of my purse and trying to drive my car.

My brother bringing up painful memories again and again.

My brother trying to barge into the bathroom whilst I try to take a bath.

My brother showing me how he can beat up women on video games.

I think it was a lot easier when I lived alone, but I'm grateful my family is helping me while I go through medical issues.

Am angry at the psychaitrist, for having the nerve to cancel all of this week's appointments, without telling my doctor's office, before hand. For I wasted two tokens, to find this out, from the receptionalist. The sad part, I have to wait, until least mid-January or later, before I can see him, for my first appointment.

This week I have been so far off doing this. I will just have to focus a bit more and do a few more things.
