Finally after nearly three months of anticipation as to whether it would actually happen I have moved out of my mothers house and into Supported Accomodation.
Phew!
I am finally after four days of appointments and assessments settled into the house. I am with 9 others in similar situations as myself.
However I am not only the eldest in the house, I am also the only sufferer of PTSD of any nature. I have disclosed in the house meeting this to all of the other tenants as I feel it is only fair as I am a mean looking shaven headed ex squaddie who is built like a bear and can look very intimidating wheen I am not even trying to.
I have been accepted as the new 'Daddy' of the house and the others are great.
I am finally somewhere I can relax to a degree and hope that this will be the start of something that will change my life for the better.
I am being signposted to all the psych services as due to my Military background and a government directive that as I am a Military Veteran I am entitled to priority refferal to psych treatment.
I will continue with my Warrior Programme once a month for the next twelve months and the Royal British Legion will be working very closely with the Charity that are housing me to ensure that when I finally go into m own independant accomodation I am still supported to some minimal degree rather than just dumped again as I was before.
I am happier now than I have been in many a year as I am finally accepting that I cannot do this all on my own and I actually do need this level of support.
The charity will also be assisting me with re-establishing contact with my six wonderful Children and I can at least now prove to the courts that I am doing everything I can to get better and be safe around them.
Phew!
:D ...... Happier Santa than I have been in ages.
