Ready To Start The Rejection Process!

I am very excited. My second book is done and my editor had several suggestions of publishing houses I should start with. Eep! This book might actually hit a wider audience! Eep! I expect to be rejected by 50 publishing houses. I have to expect that or I would cry and quit after 5.

Oh man. I'm a Real Author. The kind who Writes Books and Everything! This is well beyond my childhood dreams of my potential.

I am glad I am still alive.

I'm really excited. My editor told me she thought this was potentially an important book. Given that she has a writing career spanning many decades and lots of international success... that feels so exciting.

I'm looking for publishing houses that do things that defy genre. Or young adult health--that is the closest to my genre.

Basically my second book is a harm reduction manual for tweens/teenagers. How do you forgive yourself for making bad choices in moments when you didn't have better choices? How do you gradually move towards making healthier lifestyle choices? How do you find resources and allies and help when you are being abused? How do you manage to outrun suicide?

All stuff I needed to know so badly.

Congrats!! Your book will help many people. Keep in mind too, you always have the option of selling online and making 70% profit while waiting to be picked up by a publisher. That's if you would like to get things moving earlier than the Big 5, etc. would have it.
