Just found out yesterday that my private health insurance will not be covering me as of January. It is because the hospital where my ex works has always covered ex spouses and ex domestic partners. Due to increased fees associated with Obamacare, they have decided not to cover us anymore.
I am disabled so I have to get Medicare B and a supplement. Here's my question: why can't I find a supplement plan with mental health benefits? Am I going to have to pay my therapist out of pocket?
Anyone who has had to go through the vast numbers of Medicare supplement plans and come out knowing what the good mental health plans, please share that with me.
Thank you.

Simply put, the people in this pseudo profession do not feel they need to be accountable with plans of care and regular progress reports required of them for reimbursement. Much like chiropractic care etc., which are not actual medical professions.
Most counseling therapy clients pay cash like they would a palm or tarot card reader, and the providers licensed or not have enough demand to play their own game away from professional demands and expectations.

Nuff said?
A church and victims organizations have much to offer for women. Not much for men other than bartenders however........ Tom S. in Tn.

I'm not going to be any help here, but I thought "Medicare" was for people over 65 and "Medicaid" was for people who were low income or on disability. I sure wish they'd make all of this less complicated!

Yes I am eligible for Medicare because I am disabled but not 65. In my state Medicaid is only for people who make $900 or less a month. The supplemental insurances that supposedly pay what Medicare won't are so expensive and you have to have $5,500 in out of pocket expenses before the supplement kicks in.
I think I may just go with a plan that has good drug costs and pay my therapist on a sliding scale. He's not getting much for what he does-as in being the most awesome trauma therapist ever.

I have medicare part A & B. My Pdoc gets paid.by medicare and my portion of the bill is on a sliding scale.
I also.see a pyscologist who accepts what medicare pays and doesn't balance bill me
