Hello everyone. My name is Shadow and I am nearly 20 years old. I've had PTSD since I was 14 but have had anxious and depressive tendencies all my life. It was undianosed until I was 17, but the signs were there since 14
Depression runs in my family, Atleast on my mama's side. I came here because I need advice from people like me and I'd be happy to return the favor. I will be posting another thread shortly.

Welcome to the forum Shadow,

You've come to a safe place, with people who understand what it's like from the inside.
depression runs in my family, At least on my mama's side.
I hope I've got some good news for you on that
even if there is a genetic part to predisposing people towards getting depression (no one has found one yet) - depression seems to be much more about coping mechanisms that have been learned

learning different coping methods, often lessens or even stops the depression completely.

I could understand that, but it's the mix of anxiety that's throwing me off. And the dissociation and the fact that now every time I have a panic attack every textbook symptom of PTSD shows its self due to the fact I've gone months without therapy

Sending  of knowing what that's like (apart from panic attack - never experienced one)::poop::poop::poop:.

what grounding and self soothing skills have you?
are you able to remember to use them?
are they still working for you?
or are you finding youself in truly dangerous situations?

sorry, lot of questions - no obligation to answer if you don't want to.

doesn't necessarily follow
Therapy does help, but, chances are you've probably been triggered by something in your environment.
If you can get therapy, great
if you can't, you can still learn skills in other settings
