For me I think i will need to get rid of my extreme terror of people to even feel safe to be open with anyone.

Online feels safer now, like no one is gonna hurt me, so im open here but i can type what i cant say and no one can see me here and no one even knows my real name except one so that makes it easier to be open here. But i was speaking more in general and in real life.

I am shy and a introvert as well as a extrovert once a person gets to know me. Painfully shy as a child and growing up. But I am increasingly more social with strangers and still very shy in groups until I begin to feel safe and comfortable. Great video. So maybe I am growing towards the middle now.

@Cj77 this is my problem too and the reason I asked the question. I tend to suffer in silence trying to summon the strength to confide in someone I am not really ok.

Everybody assumes you are fine enough when you are dying in the inside. That leads to further problems, they expect you to be able to do things and I am so stuck that I can't even move from this point.

So true. People think that when I am quiet I am ok and calm about something but in reality I am internally screaming but unable to find my voice.

I can totally relate to this, one time a lecturer told me I looked as 'cool as a cucumber', in reality I was having a huge internal freak out - it just didn't show on the outside! :facepalm:

I still struggle after several different therapists over several years to convince them how bad things are - although I think I'm beginning to get it through to my new therapist :speechless: I hope you can too :hug:

Introvert I think. Though I think if I had less social anxiety I'd be more of an extrovert. I think I'm an extrovert stuck in an introvert's body. Though when I do go out and socialize I'm only good for an hour, then I want to go home.

For me I also think it is also because I'm on the autism spectrum.
