I started writing a simple answer.
When it reaching 3,000 pages I erased it all. Started over.
Throughout history all societies have had to deal with evil psychopathic leaders, either invading them, or of their own.
I feel your unease and alarm. I have sleepless nights. But they don't do me any good. They are triggering and render me dysfunctional.
I can give advice with best of em. But can I take my own medicine?
I have to focus on me first.
Make a plan.
Become self sufficient.
Become more self sufficient.
Plant a garden.
Stockpile food & supplies if you can.
Have backup plans.
Keep busy and productive - don't allow that negative energy flow to dominate!
We may in this country be entering a period like we haven't seen since the depression or civil war, or worse, and our leaders seem hell bent pushing us there for their own profit.
So my suggestion is focus on you and yours. What you can do to protect and look out for yourself. And the biggest part of that is practicing the serenity prayer. Your mental health and peace of mind are FIRST & FOREMOST.
Have a little faith that some good leaders or good events may propel us away from all this stupidness. Unfortunately until we are rid of our current admin chaos will have to reign because that is his weapon of choice. I'm exploring political activism, PEACEFUL, positive activism, with political parties and figures. It helps.
You said you were writing letters! That really encouraged me.
Together we can all support each other and work towards a positive outcome.
Keep posting your concerns.
But try to refocus your fears into daily activities that bring about hope.
I can't always avoid the self destructive negative thoughts - but with each bout I become more determined to refocus, stay positive, not damage my health any more, and not go there again!
On my good days, life can be hell and yet I am unphased. Don't let your fears win.
