What animals did you see today?

different sorts of bees.
also been seeing two great black-backed gulls recently, was wondering where they were, probably a pair, you don't see any others around they're not common here.

two collared doves too, also a pair.


saw a jackdaw this morning picking beakfull of fibres from those brown plant baskets made out of coco. must be for a nest.

For a bull snake it was medium. They have a skinny head rather than the shovel shaped pit viper head of a rattlesnake. They will puff out the sides of their face to appear more like a rattlesnake when alarmed. I always try to get a good look at both the head and tail. Bull snakes also tend to have a fat body like rattlers. Rattlers also tend to kink their rattles up when moving. That is often a quick way to identify them while they are moving which I can usually spot at a hundred yards. Snakes creep me out. I have lived swing them most of my life. I just don’t like interacting with them.
