(((Amethist))) I am so sorry you have to go through this again. It is a cycle. Are we close to having a full moon? Is there something in the air? I have to wonder aloud, you sure are strong inside. You are amazing. You have really worked so hard on yourself. You inspire me.

You have learned like a healthy child to focus on something better for you so do not simmer with resentment. You have taught me alot. It helps me with my own husband when he has bad days. Big hugs.

Hubby seems calmer this morning, maybe due to the double dose of his medication last night. He is wobbly on his feet again, but not sure if that is just because his head is wooly from the medication.

We both managed to get about 5 hours sleep, from 2 until 7, not enough but better than nothing.

Hubby's CPN has been and talked to him. It seems we are doing everything right, putting his medication up for the short term was the right way to go.

He did ask me why I had not e-mailed or phoned him. I told him that it was because we could cope and hubby was not too far into crisis to need outside intervention, and what would they do better then me anyway. He had to agree and that yes I was handling it better then the crisis team would.

I have promised to phone or e-mail if he got worse, but he did not think this would happen.

So stay on the increased meds for a full week then bring them down by a 1/4 for a week then back to down to what they were before this episode. To also make an appointment at the doctors, just to let her know what we were doing and why.

He also told hubby that he is doing well considering, as he was the one to decide to put his medication up, know it would help slow his mind down.

So the beat goes on.

Today hubby is still feeling the effect of the higher dose of medication, it will take a few days for the lower dose effect to be felt.

After a difficult conversation this morning he understands that it is better to feel like this for a few days then to stay as he was in the beginning, with his mind in race mode.

I explained that at least was in a place he felt safe and could do his own thing, even though with difficulty, and not in a noisy hospital ward being scared by every thing that was going on around him. Not knowing who's face was who, and not having a safe voice when he did go down hill.

Hopefully by tomorrow the medication will have worn off a bit and he will feel less doped up.

(((Amethist))) You are doing great with your husband. Congratulations to you. Keep on taking good care of yourself. Big hugs.

I think we have now found the right balance of medication.

Hubby is more settled today and not so foggy brained as yesterday. He will now stay on this dose for the next week or so, maybe 2, then bring them back to to the original level.
