A Very Strange Dream That Doesn't Make Sense..

Has anyone else had something where someone completely unrelated to the trauma suddenly becomes a victim as well in the form a nightmare?..

So to be brief I went through sexual abuse. This was years ago and I have a friend who is in no way affiliated or even aware of my abuse, we're not incredibly close and only hang out outside of school/the specialized program provided in school once every few months. I don't want to post their name on the internet so let's just call them "X"

Last night, in my nightmare, this person "X" was getting abused along with me in my sexual abuse. My abuse was very much the same as It had happened in real life. I was in the same location, and the same violation was happening to me. However in this nightmare X was being forced right along side me..that probably doesn't make much sense. What I am trying to say is they too were being sexually abused at the same time as i was in the same manor. This time my abuser just decided to hurt the both of us

Later on in the dream X had no recollection of the abuse. I recently discovered i was repressing sexual abuse prior to the other incident that has haunted me for a long time. X also is a year younger than me but reninds me much if myself maybe 4 years ago.Maybe X was trying to portray a younger me?


Has anyone had a similar dream!?

I think your interpretation sounds right. She was another version of you. Maybe it was easier to see that abuse when it wasn't you, or that part of you has somehow been separated from the core you after the trauma.

There is a school of thought in dream interpretation that everyone in your dreams is an aspect of you.
