This article is ridiculously problematic in its wording, as it is ideologically troubling. There has to be a more sensitive way to deal with this issue. I am surprised the overview is posted as is.

Why is it 'problematic' @xenstar ?

I like straight forward, honest approach and rape and it's recovery should not be a secret. I have heard people here talk about this and I think it's about time there was a thread to break the misconceptions and to open up the processing.

And that is exactly what the issue is... you're posting due to wording, as though it's an embarrassment for discussion. This forum is not about masking such discussion and having people hide behind it because of political correct wording. Issues need to be discussed, and this is one such issue often causing those sexually abused, symptoms due to secrecy from shame or such.

Get past it... Do a quick search and you will find plenty of discussion surrounding the topic, and much more open than I've written.
