Hi midi, something triggered a thought about him while awake and you may have been too busy to even consider thinking about him so it went into your memory bank.
Then when you sleep the dreams begin, and tell us what we thought about and often times letting us know we need to deal with an issue.
#2 Again something triggered your thoughts of your childhood home, which could trigger thoughts of your father. I don't know what triggered these thoughts, but the best way to find out is to think of all the random thoughts going on in your mind in the last 24-48 hours of the dreams (Also the things you see, such as driving by a place that would cause you to think about him).
We usually dream of issues in our life that have happened within the last 24-48 hours, and then there may be risidule of trauma in the dream too.
For instance, I dreamed of a guy I went to high school with and we were at a high school class reunion along with two other class mates, and I thought WTF? when I woke up.
None of them were even my friends we just had classes together. We all got along and small talked while in school but never hung out. I seen him twice after high school and once was at an actual class reunion, but the dream took place 6 years after that reunion.
After thinking about the whole dream his characteristics coupled with the way I was immature in high school were matching the way I had been behaving/thinking in the past 24-48 hours of that dream.
Now, how my mind pulled that out of my memory bank is beyond me? But dreams are tricky and you really have to pay CLOSE attention to every thing to figure them out.
This is my hobby so I usually don't miss much and figure my dreams out fairly quick, but it took a lot of years of paying close attention to how I got to the conclusions I came to, and I had other people help me as well.
Sorry I can't tell you exactly what triggered those thoughts that brought on the dreams. But you can figure it out if you think about your random thinking in the last 24-48 hours.
Let me know if anything comes to light
