Analyzing Dreams and Uncovering the Subconscious Mind : Analyzing Dreams and Uncovering the Subconsc

Hi midi, something triggered a thought about him while awake and you may have been too busy to even consider thinking about him so it went into your memory bank.

Then when you sleep the dreams begin, and tell us what we thought about and often times letting us know we need to deal with an issue.

#2 Again something triggered your thoughts of your childhood home, which could trigger thoughts of your father. I don't know what triggered these thoughts, but the best way to find out is to think of all the random thoughts going on in your mind in the last 24-48 hours of the dreams (Also the things you see, such as driving by a place that would cause you to think about him).

We usually dream of issues in our life that have happened within the last 24-48 hours, and then there may be risidule of trauma in the dream too.

For instance, I dreamed of a guy I went to high school with and we were at a high school class reunion along with two other class mates, and I thought WTF? when I woke up.

None of them were even my friends we just had classes together. We all got along and small talked while in school but never hung out. I seen him twice after high school and once was at an actual class reunion, but the dream took place 6 years after that reunion.

After thinking about the whole dream his characteristics coupled with the way I was immature in high school were matching the way I had been behaving/thinking in the past 24-48 hours of that dream.

Now, how my mind pulled that out of my memory bank is beyond me? But dreams are tricky and you really have to pay CLOSE attention to every thing to figure them out.

This is my hobby so I usually don't miss much and figure my dreams out fairly quick, but it took a lot of years of paying close attention to how I got to the conclusions I came to, and I had other people help me as well.

Sorry I can't tell you exactly what triggered those thoughts that brought on the dreams. But you can figure it out if you think about your random thinking in the last 24-48 hours.

Let me know if anything comes to light

Tammy,

Thanks, eh! I'm beginning to understand how dreams work. Instead of worrying over why I'm having these nightmares, it's probably memories that simply triggered them. Acknowledge them and release, eh. Your examples also help explain it!

Here I am again! Why isn't anyone else posting dreams? Huh?

Ok, I am currently having the same dream over and over, but with different cast characters. I'm out driving with somebody, headed somewhere, and there are either dead people or dead animals in the road. The person driving has to swerve around the corpses in order to keep driving along. We never reach the destination.

What does it mean to see dead people/animals in the road? What do they represent as a symbol in general dream interpretations?

I'm not sure. Most people hate their dreams and block them out, and the other reason is a lot of people believe there is no meaning in dreams. Often dreams go in spurts, like it's feast or famine. There will be times no one posts a dream in here for weeks at a time and then I will come in here and there will be 3 dreams waiting for me.

Anyway, death of a person, animal or bug would be about "change" or the "ending" of something in your life. It can be the ending of a relationship, moving to a new city, changing jobs or schools, parents divorcing, a child moving out of the home, even changing your hair color (if that makes you uneasy) and if someone stops bugging you then you might see a dead fly. Those are just a few of many changes that can cause death in dreams.

Driving generally represents our journey in life and the swerving to miss the dead animials in your inability to want face the fact that a situation has ended or is about to end in your life's journey.

Not reaching your destination would probably have to do with you not wanting to face the change. Maybe once you accept that the situation is over or has changed you will reach your destination.

Hope this was helpful

When I was a kid I had dreams of brick buildings, then I came to Washington State, at the water front there are some old brick buildings, I remember being terrified, I think it was my first real experience of a trigger, I didn't know anything about triggers and then I started having the dreams again. Actually it was when I started the EMDR. On my own I gradually increased my ability to drive in the brick area in Seattle, but the dream itself, something about being chased by a man, which has happened several times in my life. Lots of fear aound it all. I started taking pictures of brick buildings, looking for an answer, consequently now I can stand the area most of the time but I have not delved into the horror of the dream, I suppose it was more of a nightmare.
Heather

Hi Heather, nightmares usually subside as you face your trauma and come to terms with it. If you are taking pictures of the buildings and starting to feel better then your dreams should start slowing down.

If they don't then it would be a good idea to write the dreams down and read them out load or have an interpretation done. That is another way of facing the trauma, through reading and facing your dreams.

Good luck!

Another nightmare. It was about the Ex (who is a Dr.). It was very odd. I started working as an intern at a hospital where he used to work, under his old boss. My son was there too. The Ex was filling in for somebody else and so he was there unexpectedly and grew quite angry when he found out I was interning there. He quickly walked away so he wouldn't have to see or talk to me. He spoke to my son, though, and started to hit him, leaving red marks on his face.

Later, one of the nurses told me that the reason that the Ex left that hospital was because he hit his boss. They had to call the cops and remove him. Everybody there knew what he was really like, she tried to assure me.

It's really odd, I mean, I have absolutely no science/med background. It's also been a while since I've dreamt of him, so it was odd.

Hi midi, dreams are not literal so that is why you dream of working as an intern without a medical background.

An intern would indicate that you are starting a new phase in an area of your life that *still* needs work (you are not done working on this issue yet). The hospital represents illness and the illness is related to your Ex.

Your ex is filling in for someone else. That is a big Aha right there. Who does your ex remind you of? Who does he relate to in your life? Maybe a father figure, uncle, or a coach, etc.

Your Ex is angry you are interning there so he is angry about what ever it is you do. It really doesn't matter because what ever you do in life he will be angry about it because he is a miserable piece of shit.

Your son probably represents your inner child and the person who resembles your Ex is the one who hit you in the face. So think back to the age that your son is now and see if you can remember anyone hitting you for no reason or verbally insulting you to the point it felt like "a slap in the face" The red marks would represent the anger you still feel from that verbal insult.

Did you leave any treatment center or job due to a confrontation with someone in the past or recently? I'm not sure what to make of the second paragraph unless it's an echo of how you feel. For instance, the Ex is you now and you hit him because you still feel he is still your boss. The cops being your "inner safety" were called upon to remove you from this type of thinking and you need to be reassured that others know that he is an A$$.

I hope this was helpful

HI, I am not sure if I can stay I have had only one dream that was a good and what i would call beautiful dream, in the last couple of years. I normallyhave the other kind if I sleep or get them at all that is. The point is I was interested in what you said SN and thought I might drop in, I am not very good with the groups though so I may not be able to offer anything at all. I hope it is ok to join here anyway... I am interested a bit in this.

Hi fin, this group is for "any" type of dream a person has. If you are curious what the dream means I will try to help you decipher it. You can post nightmares and graphic dreams here as long as you feel comfortable with it.

I've had nightmares the majority of my life and I've had some really graphic dreams and I've done dream interpretation for other people with nightmares that were graphic. In other words the dream images do not bother or scare me. I've been doing dream interpretation for at least 4 years and I want to help bring the people who suffer from nightmares out of fear and help them overcome this.

It's a great monkey to have lifted off of your back once you stop having nightmares on a regular basis. I used to be plagued with 3-5 nightmares or bizarre/graphic dreams a week. Through dream interpretation I learned to control the nightmares and only have them during extremely stressful situation in waking life. As a general rule I have maybe one nightmare every other month and that seems to be getting better. I'm lucky if I remember one dream a week anymore, which I don't really like because I find it to be a hobby to interpret my dreams. But not having dreams as opposed to having tons of nightmares is a lot better.

If you want you can send me a dream or a nightmare to my PM and I will interpret it there. I've done that for a lot of members who don't feel comfortable placing their dreams here.

Take care
Tammy
