What a moron! Sorry but seriously, he is not debating, Alex Jones is a loud boisterous man who can't answer a question directly in my opinion. If America listens to him they are definitely going to go backwards.....he doesn't even know the facts and just yells.... what a disappointment.

We came home from holiday and hear of another shooting in America.

The CEO of a Tennessee company that specializes weapons and tactical training is threatening to “start killing people” if President Barack Obama moves forward with gun control measures.

In a video posted to YouTube and Link Removed on Wednesday, Tactical Response CEO James Yeager went ballistic over Dead Link Removed that the president could take executive action with minor gun control measures after the mass shooting of 20 school children in Connecticut last month.

“I’m telling you that if that happens, it’s going to spark a civil war, and I’ll be glad to fire the first shot. I’m not putting up with it. You shouldn’t put up with it. And I need all you patriots to start thinking about what you’re going to do, load your damn mags, make sure your rifle’s clean, pack a backpack with some food in it and get ready to fight.”

In reality, there is no use for automatic or semi-automatic weapons. There was a ban on these type of weapons and our government just let is quietly expire. For most American's, even those that own firearms, I find few that would object to a renewed ban.

I think one of the most interesting things we need to look at, is how rarely a police officer fires a gun in this country. The norm is a gun is never fired. Same thing with owners that purchase firearms legally, register them, and have them. You rarely ever hear of someone just going off and shooting someone.

In all of these mass shootings, the shooters have all had psychological issues. Yes, there need to be more controls on the sale of guns, but don't ask me how. It is far easier in this country to buy a gun illegally than it is legally. We are saturated in guns.

This really is a public health problem. We also have to take a look at the level of violence in our society as it is portrayed in the media. The breakdown of our family structure, the decline in education, the lack of opportunity for the disenfranchised. The lack of mental health services. All of these play into crime, which ultimately increase gun violence.

I had an ex that was armed and had threatened me on many occasions. Legally there was no recourse for the police to go in and take his guns. He had to be a felon, been declared mentally incompetent, or caught threatening. Since it was he said-she said, the best I could do was a restraining order. Have fun catching someone violating that and proving it. So I got my own for protection, legally and carried.

In the end, I cracked and almost used my own gun on myself. So now I don't own a gun and I will never allow myself to have personal access to one. My threat is gone and he is serving his life sentence, so I don't need one. Fortunately where I live I feel safe. But I take personal responsibility for my own actions and made a decision that was best for me and my family.

Personal responsibility and accountability are something also missing in our society any more. Maybe the question should start with do I really need this or do I need so many. People tend to forget they may be responsible, but what happens if someone steals your firearms? There are no easy answers as there are so many weapons and a culture where owning them is a "right".

All I know is I am a former gun owner. That is the way I will always remain.

The guy in question is obviously fanatical about this issue. No question his comments were far from acceptable and if he had spent as much time in school learning what the government can and cannot do, he would understand that Obama can't take guns by executive order. It would take a vote from Congress to do so. Given the propensity for conservatism in Congress, it is doubtful that vote would pass.

I am sad at how divided the country is about this issue and that it invokes responses equivalent to what this guy states. I am a gun owner. I realize it isn't for everyone and that is ok. I do, however, believe the problem lies less on the actual guns themselves and more on society as a whole.

Let us not forget Timothy McVeigh, who used a Ryder rental truck and farm material and killed 168 people in Oklahoma City. Not one assault rifle was used in the mass murder and he had less than $5,000 in the production of this bomb.

My fear is that when banning weapons doesn't solve the problem, we will be looking for something else or someone else to blame instead of addressing the real issues and another decade slips by and our country becomes even more sick and our children suffer! :(

All we seem to hear from are the fanatics. Everything seems to have to be either one side or the other. Why can't there be a middle ground? I hate extreme opinions. I also hate when people blame the president, any president, when I know it takes the congress around him to get things done or not done.

I don't like guns. I don't begrudge responsible people from having them. The key word being responsible.

Alex Jones just set US gun control back into a worse position than it already was... what a nut job.

I was just going to mention this nutnut.

Being in the UK we have gun rules, ok there is still gun crime, but not killing of kids in schools etc. to such an extent and repetition.

I just cannot understand why guns are so freely available and why people like Alex Jones feel it is there constitutional rights to have one.

I would not let this man near a spud gun even then I would worry and run for cover.

Is anything being done about the gun laws now?

Obama was on tv making noises about gun laws.

I would love to see assaut rifles being illegal. I do not think it is sporting of a hunter, I think it is more a love of a fast gun. In our gun culture many people want more guns.

I hope this serves as a wake up call to the people of the United States that it is time for some limitations.

The news agencies in my community have posts on their Facebook walls calling for violent overthrow of our government.

There are few calling for reason. Our local stores are out of ammo.

The fear-mongering will not stop from the media and the gun manufacturers who are profiting wildly from it. How many more human tragedies will it take for our society to say enough is enough?
