Anxiety Through Stress

So I have posted on here and received great advice and support, and have found it really helps. To those who have viewed and responded to my past posts, thank you. On to the post.

I reference the military a lot because most people don't understand the life, so I feel like explaining will give better insight and, in short, better responses. So in the military, you are bound by law and orders to go to complete your tasks. To be at work, regardless of your feelings or emotional state that day. To be at PT, to be at training, so on and so forth. Sick days don't exist. Calling out isn't a thing. So this is where the issue lies:

At work we are tasked with objectives to complete, and this can be overwhelming. Imagine a boss coming over, dropping a stack of paperwork and says "This is due tomorrow." Then, five minutes later, comes in and tells you that you need to go up to admin to sign a form. So the work is not getting done while you are gone if there is no one else to task to assist you. Then you get back, start working on that stack of paperwork, and your boss comes back in and says "Surprise inspection next week. That inventory and control document that you had all year to do? Due next week by Friday." So now you are pushing the first stack, lost time to sign that form, and now you are cramming a years worth of work into two weeks.

Sounds stressful right? Well, lets now add on the fact that if you don't get the work done, you can be brought up on UCMJ charges. Article 92: Failure to Obey a Lawful order. They can take your rank, half your pay for two months, 45 days of restriction (confinement) and 45 days of extra military instruction (labor), and even kick you out after all of that. The Navy can still put you on bread and water while confined!

So the above is my situation. It is pretty shitty, and it makes my anxiety skyrocket.

Just wanted to post it since it seems to help.

Thanks for listening.

When a man or woman enters the military, they literally give up their lives to serve. Your training makes you part of the military. You are trained to respond and react within it. You are conditioned to function at optimal capacity for the positions you're in.

For that reason alone, each and every one of you who serve will always have my respect as members of the military. My personal to personal opinions may change, but the sacrifices you make so that we do not should always be cherished and recognized. <3

Ah, Navy leadership. :banghead:

Have you spoken to your CMC? Can you delegate tasks to any sailors below you? Can you communicate with your leadership - as in, permission to prioritize, share the workload, etc?

The likelihood of UCMJ charges should be minimal and short EMI's should come first in a situation like this (if anything at all). Be aware of your rights! Utilize the help you have - CMC, Chaplain, Medical, sailor mentorship. Exhaust all of your options to CYA.

Somehow, do not forget to take time here and there for yourself to de-stress ... Exercise, breathing, healthy diet, volunteer work, anything to help bring down the anxiety.

I hear you, and I hope things improve.
You have my respect and gratitude.

The entire CoC is informed of my situation, but it goes above them: manning. The Region doesn't have the manpower to fuel the Ops department and us to the point where I can delegate. The job I am preforming is supposed to be billeted for 7 people...I have it all. Unfortunately, the whole shop is like this. Each area which is supposed to have around 5-7 people is held by one, so it doesn't look like it will get better any time soon. One can hope though.
