Poll Are You An Extrovert Or An Introvert?

I should have said I was an extrovert until ptsd, now it's so hard to be around people, even family sometimes.

I am an ENFP but used to be an introvert. I am an extremely low scoring extrovert though. As I have healed my natural tendencies are coming through.

Keep in mind the standard definitions of introvert/extrovert are not very correctly applied in most cases. An extrovert gets cues from their environment and their surroundings, they rely on outside stimulation and move inward. An introvert gets inside stimulation and moves outward. They spend more time in their heads. I think having PTSD could change your introverted and extroverted tendencies since PTSD automatically makes you work from inside. I say it is rather impossible to assign a characteristic to yourself after you experience PTSD, it is like asking whether or not a stroke victim is an introvert or an extrovert. You can't actually know because their introversion/extroversion has been influenced by their brain damage. Not saying PTSD is like being brain damaged - but it does change the chemistry of your brain. I am an introvert. I remember doing the personality test when I enlisted and I got INFJ.

I 'was' usually an extrovert. Now I hope nobody speaks to me.

Most introvert I think...and have always been. But when I decide to be social I try to be social and is mostly taken as a extrovert. I just know myself better than say I am just that. I know I'm introvert IRL.

I'm a natural introvert, but have a bit of a wild side. If I could EVER become confident in how I look, and could quiet the harsh critic inside me, I'd be an extrovert. A happy extrovert!

Funny..... I use to be an extrovert BIG TIME. I was the life of the party. Now I guess I am somewhere in between, but I am a home body, and like to be home, with the quiet, and peace.

That sounds just like me I was loud and funny one of the lads, yet now I tend to be the otherway unless I drink which I shouldn't do really. I like being at home in my pj's :tup:
