Fill a sink or large bowl with warm water. Add in half a cup of vinegar, and 8 to 10 drops of Lavender. Swish this round and pour over your hair. Gently massaging it into your scalp after very couple of jug fulls.

If you dont like Lavender, you could try Jasmin instead.

If you use a sink, you can keep pouring it over your hair, without loosing it down the drain.

Will give that a go amethist and thank you so much. BTW, is that white vinegar? I use it as a fabric conditioner/disinfectant in my washing machine. (Not on my coloureds of course).

I found that the Rose oil worked so much better for me than the lavender as you suggested and now my bath jitters are all but gone! Let me point out that it's been several years that I've been struggling with this issue once again. At the same time I am having pleasant memories of my Great Grandmother's old home, the same smell coming from her lovely old bathroom ...smells are very potent healers. Adding a few drops to my bath as well as my skin balm not only calms me before, during, after bathing but it leaves a wonder scent throughout the my home all morning. I also replaced the soap with Ivory so that I'm not getting any additional unnecessary toxins while bathing.

The result is a less traumatic and dissociative experience for myself. Less hair shedding, Less panic and "skin crawling/scratching/ripping" sensations.

Thank you so much :)

It is amazing what memories scents can remind us of, not all bad either. I love the story about your grandmother.

To add that extra aroma throughout your home, Add some rose oil to a bowl of hot water, give it a quick swish rouns with a spoon or something and it will send the aroma up with the steam. Or buy some unscented dried flowers, the type you use for pot puri and add a few drops of oil to that.

For a change Ylang Ylang is a really nice oil too, but it is a bit heady, so use it sparingly.

I'm going to have my first bath for ages. I have some unscented bath oil and will add some essential oils. Possibly lavender and geranium. Unsure really, the oils I have are clary sage, lemon, lavender, geranium and bergamot.

I will light candles, close my eyes and drift the tension away - hopefully

KP Lavender, Geranium and Lemon. Lemon for a bit of zing to brighten you up, and the other 2 to calm and relax you. Yes they will work this way.

To a full bath no more than 12 drops in total. I would go for 4 drops of each mixed into some of your bath oil, and poured under the hot tap just before you turn it off.

A good swish round and relax. ;)

My T recommended sniffing flavored T bags to keep me grounded but the lemon oil one sounds much nicer so I told him about it. I'm gonna buy some when I go to town this week!
