Ask a foreigner

Yup.....bought a Columbia winter jacket when they first showed up on store shelves. At first everyone asked if it was warm enough, then suddenly they were everywhere.

As for caps......I have a selection......

...and some in the car, the buggy, the front entry closet, the bedroom closet.......

I don’t know the ins and outs of Patagonia other that it was started by climbers in the 70’s, but I switched to them (from mostly Columbia) a few years ago because I was so completely impressed by their jacket in the middle of a Utah blizzard I decided I needed more. No wind got through and I never got cold once where that jacket was. But the thing is so lightweight you would never in a million years dream it would protect as well as it does.

Are Stanley cups popular outside of USA? I only heard about it from a student and was very confused but today learned that it’s a water cup that costs $45.
Oh yeah.......I have two, my bug Stanley Thermos, great for coffee, tea, soup, anything you need to keep warm for a long time.

The other is a 16oz Classic Stanley Travel Mug French Press. I use it every day. When they had a cafe where I used to work the coffee was not to my liking. So I made a couple packets of coffee I could put in, add hot water, press, put the lid on and drink. It also keeps coffee hot for about 8 hours.

@Freddyt the Stanley Quencher is an insulated mug with a straw that has become wildly popular even among children, particularly girls, but especially among young women who want to signal wealth. It became popular from social media influencers. They buy dozens of them in different colors and even accessorize the cups.

Funny thing is - though they cost quite a bit - they are tough. They survive. They last. When I first started working their were guys on construction sites who had hand me down Stanley thermoses and lunch boxes from their dad.

My coffee thing looks pretty beat up but - I use it every day. So if I have used it every day for 20(?) years - was it really expensive?

Are you seeing aurora borealis tonight? Supposed to be a big solar storm right now.
YES!!!

I wouldn't have even known about it, so thaaaaaaank you!

There was no color, just like like super high up ice crystal clouds... until my kid pulled his phone out (because their eyes are better than ours) and.... SHAZAAM!

...It's CHRISTMAS! All crimson & magenta & green & sea green.
