I can remember as a kid one teacher said to the other they couldn't be on swim duty as 'they had the painters and decorators in'. Yes it's an accurate translation. Maybe because we suddenly feel so much at the mere sight of the person ?I learned that “coup de foudre” means “thunderbolt” and “love at first sight” in French, according to Google Translate. So something like love struck? Can French speakers confirm?
