Asking for help / support here.

I feel the same and also agree it is trust related too.

Can i trust to ask for help?
Can i trust them to follow thru?
Can i trust they wont judge?
Can i trust they wont say I owe them for help later?
Can i trust they will help me sincerely?

I think it is good idea to start a thread we can all practice.

Also, looking at myself I like helping others because it feels good knowing I can offer my time and compassion. I like helping but i have hard time asking for help. And when i do decide to ask...i have hardtime using the right words.

My counselor helped me make some scripts and wording.

Instead of saying help me... say I need your help or would you be willing to help. Dont use the words "could" you help or are you "able" to help.

I tried it and it works...even for money honey.

I think.it takes lots of desperation and courage for people, like us, to ask for help.
It's pretty terrifying and for good reason.

Having said that, the rewards can be so, so sweet, when we take the plunge and just put ourselves out there.

It's the risk of our own sense of shame, that lurks, barely under the surface and that is, an oftentime, debilitating and underpinning element of our shitty condition.

It's acknowledging our needs;
for companionship, peer support, emotional comfort, understanding and the benefit of others wisdom and experience.

Acknowledging our needs often bring up fear, for it's the neglect of them that contributed to us being in.this position in the first place.

Putting them out there and showing that vulnerability? Takes guts.
We believe in you though @Bearlinda ! I'm gonna take a risk and speak in the plural because I'm that confident that this is so.
