I've been to St Thomas and St Johns several times. They have been decimated, especially St Johns. St Thomas is about 70% decimated. I just looked up pictures of the damage, and I'm so sad at the devastation that has occurred. It will take years to rebuild because everything has to be shipped in... just so sad!!!!!,

I'm ok @hodge. At work. I get off at 5:15pm EST and haven't seen too much until about 30 mins ago. Rains are picking up, winds gusts for 15 mins are so then stop. My entire apartment is about a foot and a half above ground and I checked flood areas and though one is behind me, I think its ok so far. Our worst will be later tonight but i work with a girl in a wheelchair (and her SO I think as he came over and said a big band was on it's way) and they scooted out of here saying their house floods easy and they had 6 animals. So a tad worried but not by much. Its hard to judge as the parking lot is on a hill. So the pooling in the parking lot isn't reality, you know. I am more worried about my drive home so will need to keep checking.

As soon as I wrote that @hodge, I came out of the bathroom, looked out the window and said "OH f*ck" to the rain. There's a tornado in The Cape by Kenedy Space Center. I don't think it's hit ground yet. Anyway, I left work. I lost my keys between the seats and got SOAKED trying to find amd fish them out then hydro planned ALL THE WAY HOME! The amount of water pooling on the roads is crazy! No flooding at all and we still have power and water but just a lot of rain falling at once. I fish tailed all the way home but I am home and safe.

ETA: WFM (workforce management) was talking about "I brought a pillow". Are you f*cking serious about sleeping there? Why not just close the f*cking center? We have other call centers!

Oh, wait, yet another tornado warning. Good god! There's 4 or 5 now I think.

I had this happen when I was driving to a music festival several years ago.
Couldn't see anything but taillights of the car in front of me the rain was so heavy. It was on a 50mph road. I would be able to get the car to about 40mph, then it would just go sideways, so I'd slow down. I was trying to keep up with the guy in front of me as he only thing I could see. There was no good place to pull over either.
Ended up doing this weird yo-yo manoeuvre, where I would catch him up, hydroplane, go sideways, fall back, catch up, hydroplane, go sideways... This went on for about 20 terrifying minutes before the rain let up enough for me to see.
I can't imagine trying to do that while ducking tornadoes and being buffeted my hurricane winds. Glad you made it home.
Oh, and what a time to drop the keys between the seats.
If you weren't able to get them out, do you think you could have hot wired the car with your emergency toothbrush? :ninja:

Are you f*cking serious about sleeping there?
Hot damn. That's a true workaholic! :hilarious:

"Those is Seminole county, get in your safe place." Ah f*ck! Rotation over us that may touch down. I want to sew the pull strap on Chopper's vest's handle as it makes a PERFECT handle for me and I can't find my sewing kit. God damn it! I should of thought to put that in my emergency kit!
