I'm glad I came home! I personally may have been safer in the call center but my two helpless animals wouldn't of. We all are going to the bathroom if it hits and I put a big fat couch cusion in there if need be. No mattress can fit in there.

grew up mostly in the Midwest... but there were basements.

What I miss at the present moment.

ETA: Oh, now another tornado warning. We apparently didn't have enough. Poor weather guys are struggling on video. There are 3 of them talking anyway.

Just remember, those are funnel clouds... the kind that make tornados. They don't always turn into tornados. Out of our 16 warnings with Harvey, only 1 was an actual tornado. Also, the waterspouts tend to disappear pretty quick when they hit the shoreline.

An impressive waterspout about 5 miles off shore coming this way. No one knows if it will become anything on shore though but that by itself looks scary to me.

I didn't realize I was closer to the coast, north east of Orlando. It's rather sad that I didn't know that lol. I thought I was north west of Orlando.

Thoughts are with you @lostforgottensoul . Stay safe. And as full on as the storm is, most of the risk to lives is in the aftermath, so stay inside where you're safe for as long as you possibly can. I honestly can't understand the attitude of your work, because it is so incredibly dangerous for people to be out on the roads going to and from places. Emergency crews need people at home and off the roads.

I deleted the first video and put up one with some clips put together. A tree fell and you can hear someone screaming and say "oh my god" but I couldn't see anyone, there were neighbors on their porch next to them and seemed to be interacting with the situation so I didn't run out there but I would have to help someone. I was actually about to but thought better if it. I went out in horrid down pour to a small grassy area in front of my door to try to get Chopper to go to the bathroom as I thought it was the lowest lull there was going to be due to the fact of how much worse it had gotten and the track of the eye going right into Orlando or damn near it and will be over us for 6 hrs without any sort of lull enough for us to go out. We both got soaked and I had a 4 layer Kansas hoody on that got soaked. I have ran it through the spin cycle in the washer twice. He peed but wouldn't poop and what happened as soon as we came in? It almost fully stopped raining. Damn! The wind was gusting and I did not like that I had to go into the area I was videoing and he kept getting pushed out of a squat by the wind. Poor guy! He finally went! Whew! Done!

It's getting much, much worse. Someone already died in Orlando. They had falled from the 4th floor. Not sure how as they don't know. The first responder hit a puddle and slid into a guard rail. They were ok and made it to the hospital, the person that fell into the 4th floor died, but they stated now first responders are not responding anymore. I may have videoed someone getting hurt. I am not sure. I didn't hear any ambulences but maybe this is why, I'm not sure. I feel safer in my livingroom as there is at least the porch and all in it before the window but the window is shaking. Scary! I have never been in a hurricane alone and all of my senses are horribly highened.

ETA: Oh, I still have electric but it keeps surging off and back on.

My sister's family is okay so far. Lost power, downed back fence, tree limbs, branches and soggy back screened in patio.

No word from St. Petersburg. Expect to find out sometime today. Me and mister have enough history with his and my own mom's to have a pretty short fuse with walking disabled people and the lengths they will go to, to shape circumstances to their own needs/wants... even in the face of a hurricane. Hopefully they'll be okay but I'm tellin' you that home is shoddy.

We feel that way about other circumstances too. Self induced problems... I'm taking a hard look at now. My own included.
