Oi! Ground pounders! This filthy squid needs some hotweather boots. The Navy issue high lacer steel toes are a bit much for the warm weather.

Since you sand rats know a bit about heat and footwear for it, I'm open to suggestions.

I tried a pair of the Israeli desert boots, but they fell apart in two weeks. Was working on a retaining wall and they just didn't take abrasion well.

Any suggestions before my feet rot off?

Find a pair of the old panama sole jungle boots...they're like tennis shoes when they're broke in and they're cool and light weight Bro.:)

Yep. ^ I used the Nike SFB's in Afghan. The blackhawk ones fall apart in Baghdad lol.

McRae or Rocky. YMMV depending on how wide your feet are. I have really narrow feet and very high arches so certain boots fit me better than others.

But if you are not dead-set on combat boots then consider Red Wing.

Holy f*ck. Have I been out of the game for too long. Nike & Converse make combat boots??? Was just looking at buying a pair of Danners. Now I'm going to have to research. LOL. Granted PNW & EEu don't need heat resistance :P

The only time I see that side of business is when I go to the employees store for nike and they have a small selection.

Funnily enough, their combat boots run pretty wide while their iconic canvas sneakers run really narrow.

I like "danner" because they are cheaper and last forever, but if you are looking to spend I have heard a lot of good things about Oakley.
