Winter camping in Canada! I like your idea of the backyard!!! I'm very glad you are planning to stay safe too... and since you do have ptsd, please consider giving yourself a comfy reward afterwards; our "reptile brains" are involved in the ptsd, so I've found physical safety and comfort amazingly helpful sometimes.

Also there might be winter camping groups around you? Experienced folks know lots of tricks that help with comfort... and survival...

Thanks for the support everyone and thanks for the suggestion greenleaf. For now, one tiny step at a time, I'm not a great group person right now and quite frankly, the thought of just up and joining a group of strangers for anything triggers anxiety in me.

Right now the goal is to backyard camp. That alone terrifies me but I'm doing a lot of Internet research to make sure I get it right - especially since an arctic air mass just moved in!

One goal at a time. One foot in front of the other and the only future right now is the other side of that one goal.
