Just don't forget that men sometimes have great difficulty in verbalizing what we really feel. Let his actions and his words speak but if, especially over time, you're not 'hearing' what you want or need to hear then you should decide your action. The time you take is entirely yours to decide.

With that being said I think I'll give him another chance. I got my point across and he understands that he hurt me so now I'll let his actions decide the outcome of our relationship.

That's the way a relationships work sometimes, there must be give and take. Just make sure you're not at one extreme or the other. I'm glad you're giving him another chance, maybe because I didn't get a second chance when I screwed up with a woman that I truly love, but also because you've given him an opportunity to grow as a man. If he uses that chance to become more than he was then his daughters will benefit as your relationship with him will grow stronger.
