Collective Suggestions, Wisdom & Experience, (part 1)
I have been able today to understand more, and reflect and learn.
(I certainly am going to be reading this thread as well as positively washing and likely re-washing my brain with all comments, so I've written it in such a way as to highlight combined suggestions, wisdom and experience of forum members and for all of us.
This 'I Can' / 'I Will' list is here for everyone of us who needs, reads and puts such suggestions into action, and in spite of anything.) Thank you for sharing directions and wisdom and experience to release destructive compulsions, as well as isolation.
I Can Decide I have to reach out, and not give a shit what another may think.
I Can Ask for help.
I Can Talk to someone.
I Can Refocus enough to distract myself until my feelings pass.
I Can Ride it out and wait for the compulsion to pass.
I Can Seek help, perhaps on an outpatient basis.
If desperate, I Can Be willing to write here and get some stuff out, and even while psychotic, provided I still keep the rules of the forum. (smiles)
I Can Read other's psychotic posts (lol) here within the forum and identify, while observing that I'm not alone. (smiles)
I Can Be willing to, in the future, come back and reread what I've written, and acknowledge and retain my improvements.
I Can Remember all improvements are something to acknowledge and be grateful for them. As some things are resolved there are those improvements which permits me to perhaps never have to go there again; They are no longer a problem, I can be grateful for this.
I Will Remember my progress, and resolve to act upon what I've learned from my experience, as well as from my experience of suffering.
I Can Practice acceptance of my feelings, myself and what I must deal with.
For some folks, ....We Can Remember, we've gone through this before and we will likely go through this again, all suffering and turmoil which can be gotten through.
If ever, I so badly want and am craving to fulfill a destructive compulsion, if I Ask for and accept help, I'm less likely to follow thru.
I Can Remember asking for help is an option.
If I can't help myself, I Can allow another to help me. If I'm seeking control over exactly when, where and whom will help me I am quite possibly neglecting personal responsibility. As long as another or they're safe and can help some, I can let another help me.
