Can Pms Make Anxiety Worse?

Question for the ladies, do you notice that you're ptsd and anxiety symptoms become worse just before, or during, or after your period. I have noticed my symptoms not only increase and heighten but become very intense. Has any other ladies experienced this too ?

Yes. The day before my period, even if I'm feeling great and have been, is typically either high paranoia or si. If I'm lucky enough to realize the calendar (I got an app to help), knowing why helps my anxiety from spiraling. During my period it's mixed, not near as bad as the day before.

The week before and after my period, I always feel like I'm horrendously unwanted and spend most of the time crying or trying to sleep away how hopeless I feel. Trying being the operative phrase as I can't sleep for the life of me. I'm sorry you've experienced it too.

Hormones suck. When I'm pregnant I go seriously sideways. Chain myself to a radiator sideways ;). No...

I can as well, but sometimes think that I get horny because I want to feel something different. Before a period I notice the wave of anxiety rising and during the period it's a constant on edge feeling for the next few days. Some months are worse than others! It's good to hear that I am not the only one. I hate anxiety, I really do! I preferred the way it use to be when I was due a period, and during. . .I got a little emotional, loved chocolate and had a slight stomach cramp! That was easier compared to having PTSD on top of it as well!!! :shifty:

The 3 days before I have two alternating moods; aching hollowness and a step above panic. Those are also the only 3 days of the month where I have zero sex drive. The day I start however...

I have been lucky in the way of physical symptoms, I don't really have to deal with any of the normal physical symptoms aside from a dull lower back ache. The emotional part however, I think I got cursed 10 fold.

Hate being female. Not only do I have to endure the premenstrual cycle on a monthly basis, it just seems to kick off my PTSD symptoms and anxiety more :cautious: not to mention mixed in with some insomnia. Oh, and this ache around my heart, or behind the left breast for great measure! I don't know whether to cry or scream. . .or smash something!
