I cancelled a trip to the Christmas market some friends and me had planned. Germany is on high alert after the recent attacks. Some cities even cancelled their Christmas markets.

So it is odd. Soon I am going to be as "nutty" as my sufferer. No offense ment, my husband calls himself nutty.

But I just wouldn't enjoy myself.

Ain't hypervigilance fun? I am a bit mad at myself.

You know, I wonder if it is unpatriotic to show the terrorist you are afraid. My brother said so. He did not plan to attend a Christmas market but now he is gonna go to show them they cannot scare us.

My husband used to struggle with crowds as I have told you and now he is much better but he refused to go to the Christmas market.

Some friendsinvited us to the Nuremberg market but he did not want to go. I planneda trip with other friends to another market but nowI ain't going.

My husband said he was afraid of Christmas this year because he feared they would try to hurt us during the holidays because they hate our faith. I said that they could try to hurt us any day of the year, but he was right.
A few days ago a 12!!!!! year old who planted a bomb at one of our Christmas markets was in the news and now this.

I don't blame you for wanting to feel safe, @Never_falter. Having common sense is not unpatriotic. We are all still learning how to live in this brave new world.

Something about these cowardly terrorist attacks and a certain orange individual in the U.S. tend to bring out the bravery in me, but I still would not knowingly go into a potentially dangerous situation without an army.

I just read in the news that all the Weinachtsmarkts (Christmas markets; nice to have an opportunity to remember some German) were closed today, anyway, as a gesture of mourning. Given that the suspect is evidently still at large, I'd be hunkering down.

It's a shame. I imagine a lot of people who have stalls make a fair bit of their income there, but it's not worth risking life and limb, until they catch the cretin.

It's just the ones in Berlin (actually all but one) which have been closed but meanwhile I heard in the news that the other ones are very empty and not fun at all today and probably also in the days to come.
The suspect or the suspects seem to be still at large and police have warned the population to be vigilant.
